The short version

Speedometer HUD collects nothing. No personal data is gathered, stored on a server, or shared with anyone — because the app has no server and makes no network requests at all.

Location

The app asks for location access while in use, because that is the only way iOS can report how fast you are moving. Your location is read on the device, converted into a speed reading, and shown on screen.

  • Never written to a file. The reading exists only in memory, for the instant it is displayed.
  • Never uploaded. There is no server, no API and no network request of any kind.
  • No route history. No trip is recorded, and nothing is kept once you close the app.

What is stored on your device

Only your preferences: unit of measurement, speed limit, mirror mode and the screen-awake setting. These live in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad and are removed when you delete the app. They never leave the device.

No third parties

The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about your use of the app is measured or transmitted, and no data is shared with, or sold to, anyone.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
